A-Line Skirt Garment Construction
This garment sewing class focuses on the constrution of a classic A-line skirt with a zipper closure, a versatile wardrobe staple that builds strong foundational sewing skills. Suitable for beginners to confident beginners, the class emphasizes accuracy, fit, and clean finishing techniques.
Students will learn how to choose appropriate fabrics, take measurements, and work with a pattern. Instruction covers essential skills such as marking and cutting fabric, assenbling skirt panels, installing zippers, attaching a waistband or facing, and hemming for a professional finish. Emphasis is placed on understanding garment structure so students gain confidence in both technique and process.
By the end of the class, students will complete a well-fitting A-line skirt and leave with the skills needed to recreate the design in a variety of fabrics and styles.
